Setting your pickup height
For neck pickups, try about 1/8" between the polepieces and the bottom of the strings when fretted at the highest fret. For bridge pickups, try 3/32". Experiment to find what sounds good to you: closer to the strings will sound louder and grittier, farther will sound clearer and quieter.
